Collier County in particular has experienced increased population growth in comparison to the rest of Florida over the last 10 years. Collier County is made up of Chokoloskee, Copeland, Everglades City, Goodland, Immokalee, Marco Island and Naples. Collier County has seen a 33 percent population increase since the year 2000, as opposed to a 17 percent overall increase for the State of Florida. This consitent growth rate has been maintained for the past 20 years and the trend will continue. According to Tindale-Oliver & Associates, a planning and engineering firm, the population of Collier County is projected to increase 66 percent between 2010 and 2020.
 
Real Estate Growth Trends
The most urbanized areas are located West of County Road 951. The population and real estate growth trend for the next seven years, through 2020 is to occur in the Golden Gate Estates as well as the Ave Maria areas of Collier County. Lower housing unit densities in these areas will translate into slightly higher densities over the next years. The trend in higher housing units will mirror those of the increased population trends for those areas.
